Enacted and rescinded by U.S. presidents through presidential memorandums, the Global Gag Rule cuts off U.S. global health funding for organizations that provide, refer, counsel, or advocate for safe abortion with their own non-U.S. funds—disrupting vital health services for women and girls.

President Biden rescinded the Global Gag Rule when he took office, but the next president could easily put it back in place and once again cut off women and girls from lifesaving care. We witnessed the devastating impact of the Global Gag Rule during the Trump administration. We cannot let that happen again.
